This policy explains what information the Android game Find the Imposter (package com.findthe.imposter) uses, and why. The game is made by Crowncub ("we", "us"). We keep data use as small as we can.
The Android app shows the Find the Imposter game from findtheimposter.com inside the app. The website's privacy policy covers sign-in, online rooms, chat and feedback, and it applies in the app too.
Full policy for the online features: https://findtheimposter.com/privacy. If the two ever disagree, that policy wins for the online features.
The short version
- An account is optional. You can play without one.
- Your progress and settings are saved on your device.
- Online features (such as online rooms) send the game data they need to the servers that run them.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob. Google's ad software collects some technical information to show ads, count them and stop fraud.
- We do not sell your information.
Information saved on your device
The game saves your progress and settings on your phone or tablet so you can continue where you left off.
If Android backup is on, Android may include this data in your device backup to your Google account. Google handles that backup; we cannot see it. Uninstalling the game deletes the data on the device.
Accounts and online play
If you choose to sign in, the sign-in provider shares basic account details (such as an account identifier and email address) so we can keep your profile. Online play sends the information needed to run a shared game, such as your chosen player name, room settings, moves, votes and any chat messages, to the game's servers. Other players in the room can see your player name and what you share in the game. Please do not post personal information in chat.
The full details, including every service provider involved, are in the Find the Imposter website privacy policy.
Ads (Google AdMob)
The game is supported by ads from Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, this software may collect:
- your device's IP address, which can show an approximate location such as your country or city;
- information about the app and the ads, such as ads shown and tapped, and app launches;
- technical and diagnostic information, such as crash logs and performance data;
- device identifiers used for advertising and fraud prevention.
Where the law allows and you have agreed, Google may show personalised ads. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings at any time.
Google handles this information under its own policy: policies.google.com/privacy. How Google uses data from apps that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Some ads are optional reward videos you choose to watch. You never have to watch one to play.
Children
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what the features above need to work.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child's information was collected in a way that does not match this policy, email us and we will help, including deleting it.
Keeping and deleting information
Game data on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the game. Account data stays until you ask us to delete it. Information collected by Google's ad software is kept under Google's policies. See how to delete your data.
Security
Online features use encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access rules on the servers. Google's ad software sends its data over encrypted connections. No service can promise perfect security.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above. If a change is important, we will also say so in the game's update notes.
